Alpine skiing-Worley gives France another gold, denies Maze
SCHLADMING, Austria Feb 14 (Reuters) – Tessa Worley gave France their second gold medal of Alpine skiing world championships when she upset favourite and titleholder Tina Maze to win the giant slalom on Thursday. Worley finished more than one second ahead of Maze, who has dominated this year’s skiing season and has already won gold in the super-G and silver in the super combined in Schladming. Austria’s Anna Fenninger was third, partly making up for the disappointment of crashing when she defended her super combined title earlier in the championships. …

Austrian snowboarders dominate World Cup in Sochi
SOCHI, Russia (AP) — Andreas Prommegger led an Austrian 1-2 in the men’s parallel giant slalom and teammate Marion Kreiner won the women’s event at the snowboard World Cup on the Sochi Olympics course on Thursday.
