(Reuters) – South Korea's Choi Jin-ho will swap golf spikes for a rmy boots and begin his military service after playing for an Asia-Pacific select side against China in next week's Nissan Cup. Just days after the Ryder Cup-style team event in Shenzhen from November 30 to December 2, Choi will begin 20 months of compulsory service, starting with five weeks of brutal basic training. Motor racing-Korean GP racks up more big losses
SEOUL, Nov 21 (Reuters) – The Korean Grand Prix racked up substantial operating losses last month, the third year running it has finished in the red, potentially threatening its place on Formula One’s calendar. The South Korea race, first run in 2010, returned operating losses of 39.4 billion won ($36.4 million), local media reported on Wednesday, quoting race organisers. One of nine Asian races on the 20-stop 2012 Formula One calendar, including the Asia-Pacific Australian Grand Prix, the South Korean event also lost an estimated $50 million in its first year. …
