Rugby-Royal Bank of Scotland increases support for English rugby
LONDON, Nov 12 (Reuters) – Part-nationalised Royal Bank of Scotland will become the main banker to the English Rugby Football Union (RFU) under a five-year deal announced on Monday. RBS will also increase its investment in an existing scheme to help local rugby clubs improve facilities such as club houses, the RFU said. RBS, in which the state has a stake of more than 80 percent following the credit crunch, also sponsors the Scottish Rugby Union and the annual Six Nations international tournament. Shevchenko invited to be Ukraine national coach
Andriy Shevchenko, a former soccer player and member of REUTERS – Retired Ukraine striker Andriy Shevc henko has been asked to coach the national team seeking to qualify for the 2014 World Cup finals in Brazil, the Ukraine soccer federation said on Monday. "Andriy Konkov, president of the Football Federation of Ukraine, made a decision to offer Andriy Shevchenko the job of head coach of the Ukraine team", the FFU's official website said.
